Introduction

This is a placeholder/navigation page for the Neocephalopoda, a clade containing Orthocerida (or "at least some"  of this traditional order), ammonoids, and the fossil and extant coleoids.  This unit covers the basal neocephalopods, including the stratigraphically important ammonoids.  The coleoids are covered elsewhere.  At the moment, we have no coverage of the extant squids and octopi.
